(a) The National Sports University Bill has been enacted into the National Sports University Act, 2018 on 17.08.2018 during Monsoon Session, 2018 of the Parliament. M/s Hindustan Steel Construction Works Ltd. has been engaged as Project Management Consultant and it has been decided to engage TATA Institute of Social Scienes (TISS) for academic and professional consultancy. Construction has started. One Post Graduate and two Under Graduate programmes have been started in the University. A sum of Rs. 50.00 crore has been sanctioned for pre investment activities for the University, out of which Rs.31.10 crore has been released so far.
(b) At present no proposal is under consideration for providing college or campus for sports in each North Eastern State under the National Sports University

- (a) the status of the Sports University in Manipur as on date and the amount allocated and spent for the same till date;
- (b) whether every North Eastern State would be provided with a college or campus for sports and if so, the details thereof;
- (c) the number of students enrolled every year in the University and the courses offered therein; and
- (d) the number of seats allotted for every State as quota, if available, State- wise?
