Gujarat Free Ration Scheme
The Free Ration Scheme was launched by keeping in view the poor people of the state mainly the daily wage worker who will not be able to earn their livelihood until the lockdown is taken down by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Through the implementation of the Gujarat Free Ration Scheme, the free ration will be provided through all of the public distribution systems. The scheme can prove to be a big initiative in favour of the people of Gujarat state

Benefits Of The Scheme
The main benefit which will be provided to the poor people of the state through the implementation of this scheme is the benefit of getting free ration in the times of lockdown. The normal people will not earn their daily wages and have to live on savings but the poor people are not able to save money because they earn very little money are at the risk of getting no food and shelter. So, the Gujarat government has said that all of the people who are having ration cards can take free ration from the ration shops which are available in their region.
Important Dates
The Free ration scheme will be implemented on 1st April 20. The scheme was announced by the Chief Minister of Gujarat on 26th March 2020.
Incentives Under Gujarat Free Ration Scheme
Many different types of commodities will be provided to the ration cardholders of the Gujarat state. The list of incentives and commodities is given below:-
Around 60 lakh families or 3.25 crore individuals holding ration cards will get food items under.
- 3.5 kg of wheat per person
- 1.5 kg of rice per person
- 1 kg of pulses per person
- Sugar per family free of cost
- Salt per family free of cost

Application Procedure
If you have the basic ration card and you take the ration on a regular basis from your Public Distribution system or the ration shop in your region then there is no need to apply for the scheme separately. If you are a ration cardholder in the Gujarat state then you will be automatically eligible for this scheme. You just have to visit your nearest ration shops and ask for the ration under the Gujarat free ration scheme.
