Beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana

Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of household beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in the country including the number of beneficiaries during April-August, 2020, State-wise;
(b) the details of the total number of household beneficiaries of PMUY in Jharkhand State especially in Jharkhand State especially in Koderma and Giridih districts of Jharkhand State;
(c) the district-wise number of families to which gas connections have been provided under the Ujjwala Yojana in Gujarat as on date;
(d) whether any target has been fixed for these districts under the above said scheme in this regard and if so, the details of the target including the extent of the target achieved so far;
(e) the total amount spent / transferred to the beneficiaries under Ujjwala scheme during April-August, 2020; and
(f) whether the Government is planning to extend the benefit of Ujjwala Scheme for the entire financial year 2020-21?
ANSWER
MINISTER OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS (SHRI DHARMENDRA PRADHAN)
(a) PMUY achieved the target of 8 Crore beneficiaries on 7 September 2019. State/UT-wise details of LPG connections released under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is at annexure-I.
(b) Total number of PMUY beneficiaries in the State of Jharkhand is 32.61 lakh including 0.65 lakh in Kodarma district and 2.82 lakh in Giridih district.
(c) & (d) No districts wise target was fixed under PMUY. District-wise details of LPG connections released in the State of Gujarat are at Annexure-II.
(e) Oil Marketing Companies(OMCs) have transferred an amount of Rs. 9670.41 crore during April to August 2020 to PMUY beneficiaries under PMGKY for buying LPG refills.
(f) Beneficiaries of Ujjwala Scheme can purchase cylinders throughout the Year.
