Wrong evaluation in CUET, 2023 by NTA
664. SHRI RAM NATH THAKUR:
Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that dozens of questions in JEE, Common University Entrance Test (CUET), 2023 have been wrongly answered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) leading to poor ranks of students;
(b) the number of questions challenged by the students for the above examination; and
(c) factual status thereof?

(a) No Sir. In accordance with standard examination process, candidates’ responses along with provisional answer keys are uploaded on official website by NTA for all candidates to challenge the answer keys. All such challenges are settled by Subject Experts at NTA and the Result is prepared and published on the basis of the Final Answer Keys as settled by the Subject Experts.
(b) & (c) JEE (Main) 2023 was conducted in two Sessions i.e., Session 1 & Session 2. The total number of Question Papers used for 05 subjects were 298 and number of questions were 27512. Candidates were given an opportunity for answer key challenge from 2nd Feb to 4th Feb 2023 in Session 1 and 19th to 21st April 2023 for Session 2.
In both sessions, about 14857 Answer Key Challenges were received, out of which 1407 were the unique challenges.
Therefore, out of 27512 Provisional Answer keys, 1407 were challenged. Out of these, 49 Provisional Answer Keys were revised as settled by Subject Experts
CUET (UG) 2023 was conducted in nine (9) Phases for admission in the academic session 2023-24. The total number of Question Papers used in the exam for 61 subjects were 2305 and the number of Questions were 148520.
Candidates were given an opportunity for answer Key Challenge from 29th June to 01st July 2023 along with the Provisional Answer Keys, Question Paper, and Recorded Responses. In this duration, about 25782 Answer Key Challenges were received, out of which 3886 were the unique challenges.
Therefore, out of 148520 Provisional Answer keys, 3886 were challenged. Out of these, 570 Provisional Answer Keys were revised as settled by Subject Experts.
