LIFE INSURANCE CORPORATION OF INDIA
Will the Minister of FINANCE be pleased to state:-
(a) the details of the total number of offices/branches of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) functioning in the country and the number of officers/employees working therein, State-wise including Tamil Nadu;
(b) the total number of various policy holder who are paying premium across the country, policy-wise; and
(c) the total profit earned by the LIC for the last three years, zonal-wise?

Statement as referred to in reply of Lok Sabha Starred Question no. 262 for answer on 15th March, 2021/ Phalguna 24, 1942 (Saka) regarding “Life Insurance Corporation of India” by SHRI RAMALINGAM S. AND DR. T. R. PAARIVENDHAR, Hon’ble Members of Parliament State and Union territory-wise details of total number of offices/branches and officers/employees of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) as furnished by LIC, are at Annex ‘A’ and Annex ‘B’ respectively.

The number of individual, paying premium for life policies of LIC, as on 28.02.2021, as furnished by LIC, was 21,08,37,085.
The surplus of LIC is determined for the Corporation as a whole as per the provisions of section 26 of the Life Insurance Corporation Act, 1956. Surplus in respect of LIC’s total business is as under:
