Will  the  Minister  of  FISHERIES,  ANIMAL  HUSBANDRY  AND  DAIRYING  मत्स्यपालन, पशुपालन और डेयरी मंत्री be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has made any plan/ proposes to make any pan to double the production of fish and the income of the fishermen of Madhya Pradesh;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has taken any steps to provide training in the field of  fisheries and economic assistance to the fishermen under AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan;

(d) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FISHERIES, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING:

(a) and (b): The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is implementing a flagship scheme namely “Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)”- to bring about Blue Revolution through sustainable and responsible development of fisheries sector in India” with highest ever investment of Rs. 20050 crore in fisheries sector for a period of 5 years with effect from the financial year 2020-21 in all the States and Union Territories including Madhya Pradesh. PMMSY inter- alia aims to enhance of fish production and productivity as well as double the fish farmers’ incomes and to achieve this endeavour, focus is given under PMMSY for important activities relating to expansion, intensification, diversification and productive utilization of land and water resources. The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying during 2020-21 has accorded approval to the proposal by Government of Madhya Pradesh at a total cost of Rs.148.54 Crore, with central share of Rs. 45.47 Crore

(c) to (e): Yes Sir. The Government of India announced Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) as part of AtmaNirbhar Bharat Package and the PMMSY accords focus towards Training, Awareness, Exposure and Capacity building of fishers, fish farmers, fish workers/vendors and other stakeholders. Training has been provided to 11000 fishers, fish farmers’ fish workers/vendors, local youths, Fisheries Co-operative societies and State officials during 2020-21. Under PMMSY the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying during 2020-21 has accorded approval to the fisheries development proposals worth Rs. 2681.39 Crore with central assistance of Rs. 923.71. Details of State/UT-wise central assistance released are provided in Annexure I.
