Health Insurance : Jharkhand Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana 2021
Jharkhand government is going to implement Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana 2021 in the state. This scheme is a state version of the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. In this CM Health Insurance Scheme, the state govt. will provide cashless and paperless treatment upto Rs. 5 lakh to all eligible beneficiaries. The earlier schemes such as Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana, Mukhyamantri Gambhir Bimari Upachar Yojana would now be merged and implemented under AB-MMJAY.
Each person whose name appears in SECC-2011 Data can avail health insurance benefits upto Rs. 5 lakh. The amount under Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana would be applicable for secondary and tertiary hospitalization and all the pre-existing diseases will be covered from Day 1. The aim of the Jharkhand State Government is to provide quality health care services, particularly for those peoples who are living in the remote and difficult areas in order to reduce number of diseases. The scheme is also expected to lessen the burden on state residents and help them get better treatments.
Ayushman Bharat Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is Similar to AB-PMJAY
In the recent budget speech, CM Hemant Soren mentioned that around 709 total hospitals in Jharkhand have been empanelled under Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The free treatment upto Rs. 5 lakh under flagship AB-PMJAY scheme is now available in 489 private hospitals and 220 government hospitals. To avail the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana, golden cards of 88,76,567 beneficiaries have been made. Around 7,34,021 eligible beneficiaries have already taken benefits of the PM Jan Arogya Yojana.
In order to ensure proper health services disposal to people and keeping in mind the benefit of people, the state govt. has decided to implement AB-PMJAY scheme in the name of Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The state govt. of Jharkhand is working on the mission of ensuring Health For All with an objective to create New India by FY 2022.
Mukhyamantri Swasthya Beema Yojana (MSBY) to Merge in AB-MMJAY
Mukhyamantri Swasthya Beema Yojana (MSBY) was a health insurance scheme of Jharkhand which launched on 15th November 2017. The state government of Jharkhand had implemented the Swasthya Beema Yojana from 28th December 2017 to provide health insurance coverage to the state residents. The MSBY scheme provided benefits to about 57 lakh families in the state who were covered under the National Food Security Act. The government was providing free and cashless treatment to the poor families under the scheme.
In the earlier MSBY Jharkhand Scheme, the state govt. had not taken any premium amount from the poor people, entire premium was borne by the govt. itself. The treatment under the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Beema Yojana was available at all the government hospitals and empaneled private health institutions. The government had also enlisted the popular and well-known hospitals and nursing homes at its border line and neighboring states for free and cashless treatment under the scheme.
The state government was providing health insurance coverage to the state residents, especially families belonging to the economically weaker section of the society under the MSBY scheme. Under the scheme, Rs. 50,000 were provisioned for secondary care, Rs. 2 lakh for special care and Rs. 30,000 for senior citizens of additionally covered class. The government had provided health cards to the Jharkhand MSBY beneficiaries and the whole system was cashless. The MSBY scheme was of great help to the state residents especially those who are not able to afford today’s costly treatments.
Mukhyamantri Gambhir Bimari Upachar Yojana to Merge in AB-MMJAY
Mukhyamantri Gambhir Bimari Upachar Yojana earlier included treatment of 84 type of diseases. Now 80 diseases would be covered under the Ayushman Bharat Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Only 4 diseases namely Cancer, Kidney Transplantation, serious liver ailments and acid attack victims would be covered under the Mukhyamantri Gambhir Bimari Upachar Yojana. Rest of the diseases are merged in Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
Now this MSBY and Mukhyamantri Gambhir Bimari Upachar Yojana would be merged and the new health scheme would be implemented under the name of Ayushman Bharat – Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in Jharkhand.
