Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has any plan to put minimum wages to Labour including that in private sector and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the time by which it is likely to be introduced and whether any category has been fixed for minimum wages in private sector;
(c) whether the Government has any proposal in this regard and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the time by which it is likely to be implemented?

(a) to (d): The Minimum Wages Act, 1948, provide for fixing minimum rates of wages in scheduled employments including those in the private sector. Both the Central Government and the State Governments are appropriate Governments to fix, review and revise the minimum wages and responsible for implementation of the provisions of the Act under their respective jurisdictions.
