Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has reduced the fund allocation to the National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS) during the last five years and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government is aware of the declining number of beneficiaries under the scheme;
(c) if so, the details of the number of beneficiaries during the said period, State-wise;
(d) whether the Government is planning to cover households covered under the said Act within the purview of the NFBS; and
(e) whether the Government has done a social audit of the NFBS as mandated by the Supreme Court and if so, the details thereof and if not the reason therefor?

(a) & (b): Under National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS), which is a component of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), the Below Poverty Line (BPL) households are entitled to get one-time lump-sum amount of Rs.20,000/- on the death of primary breadwinner aged more than 18 years and less than 60 years. Identification of beneficiaries, sanction and disbursement of benefit under the scheme is done by the States/ UTs. The funds under the NFBS are released on the basis of number of beneficiaries reported by the States/ Uts, subject to the ceiling number of beneficiaries. The details of funds released during last five years under NFBS are as under:
