Vacancies of various posts under the Ministry

Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) whether there are huge vacancies of various posts under the Ministry;

(b) if so, the details thereof as on 31st July, 2023, organization-wise, group- wise and category-wise;

(c) the details of vacant posts in various para military forces as on 31st July, 2023, force wise; and

(d) the details of vacancies advertised and filled up during 2023 after announcement by Government to fill at least 10 lakh vacancies during 2023, organization-wise?

(a) to (c): Ministry of Home  Affairs,  its  organizations  including  CAPFs (such as Border Security Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, Assam Rifles and Central Industrial Security Force) and Central Police Organizations (including Delhi Police) has approximately 1,14, 245 vacant posts at present, out of which 3075 are in  group ‘A’, 15861 are in group ‘B’ and 95309 are in Group ‘C’. Of R.S.US.Q.NO. 1496 FOR 02.08.2023. these, 16356 posts of Scheduled Castes, 8759 posts of Scheduled Tribes, 21974 posts of Other Backward Class, 7394 posts of economically weaker section and 59762 posts of general category are vacant.

(d) Recruitment against vacant posts is a continuous process. Advertisements to fill up the various posts are published as and when vacancy arises and appointment letters issued after completion of recruitment process as per rules. In 2023, advertisements for about 31879 posts have been published out of which 1126 have been filled up. The Ministry reviews the recruitment progress regularly to ensure that vacant posts get filled up in time bound manner.
