SCHOLARSHIP TO SC, ST AND OBC STUDENTS

SHRI AMRA RAM:

Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:

(a) the number of students belonging to Scheduled Casts, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes who have been provided scholarship during the last five years in Rajasthan;

(b) the date-wise and fund-wise respective share provided by the Government to the above said State;

(c) whether the Government proposes to provide scholarship to the students on monthly basis;

(d) if so, the time by which it is likely to be provided; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): The details of number of students and funds released by Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DoSJE) to the Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) during the last five years in State of Rajasthan is attached as Annexure.

(c) to (e): No such proposal is under consideration.

Annexure

Statement referred to part (a) and (b) of reply of Lok Sabha Starred Question No. 3597 for answer on 17.12.2024

(A) Pre-Matric Scholarships Scheme for SCs & Others and Post-Matric Scholarships Scheme for SC Students. Fund released to the State of Rajasthan by Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DoSJE):

(B) Scholarships for Higher Education for Young Achievers (SHREYAS) for SC (DoSJE):

1. Scholarships for Higher Education for Young Achievers (SHREYAS) for Scheduled Castes (SHREYAS SCs): Being Central Sector Scheme, funds are not allocated State­ wise. Therefore, no state-wise data are maintained in respect of any of these Sub­ Schemes under SHREYAS SCs.

(C) Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA). Fund released to the State of Rajasthan by (DoSJE:

Mode-I: Started from AY 2021-22, fee is reimbursed to Private Residential Schools affiliated to CBSE/State Boards for providing high quality residential education to meritorious SC students;

Mode-II: Grant in Aid is provided to the NGOsNOs for running and maintenance of the project of Residential/Non-Residential schools and Hostels for SC students.

(D) PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (PM-YASASVI) for OBC and Others. Funds released to the State of Rajasthan by (DoSJE):

(E) Scholarships for Higher Education for Young Achievers (SHREYAS) for OBC and Others. Fund released to the State of Rajasthan by DoSJE:

(F) Details of Beneficiaries during last 5 years in respect of Rajasthan State in respect of Scholarship Schemes of Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA)

(G) The following schemes of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs are Central Sector Schemes and State-wise funds are not allocated under these schemes:

National Overseas Scholarship for ST students, National Fellowship for ST students (NFST), National Scholarship for Higher Education for ST students (Top Class).
