Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) ) the steps taken by the Government to increase Renewable Energy production since 2014;
(b) the status of the programme to install 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030; and
(c) the status of the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Bijli Yojana?

(a) & (b) As on 30.06.2024, a total of 195.01 GW renewable energy capacity has been installed in the Country which includes 85.47 GW Solar Power, 46.66 GW Wind Power, 10.95 GW Bio-Power and 51.93 GW Hydro Power. The Government of India has taken several steps to increase renewable energy production since 2014, details of which are placed at Annexure.
(c) Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, as on 31.07.2024, a total of 1.29 crore residential consumers have shown their interest for rooftop solar installation through registration on the National Portal of the scheme, out of which 15.65 lakh consumers have submitted the application and 2.49 lakh installations have been completed.

Major steps/initiatives taken by Government of India to increase renewable energy production since 2014, which will also help in achieving 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030, inter alia, include:
- Major schemes/initiatives launched such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM), PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, National Programme on High Efficiency Solar PV Modules, National Green Hydrogen Mission, Green Energy Corridor Scheme, Setting up of Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Parks, National Bioenergy Programme, Development of 1 GW Offshore Wind Energy Projects, etc.
- Standard Bidding Guidelines for tariff based competitive bidding process for procurement of Power from Grid Connected Solar, Wind and Wind-Solar Projects have been issued.
- Procedure for Uniform Renewable Energy Tariff (URET) has been issued.
- Quality Control Order and Standard & Labelling (S&L) programs for Solar Photovoltaic modules and Grid-connected Solar Inverters have been issued.
- To augment transmission infrastructure needed for steep RE trajectory, transmission plan has been prepared till 2030.
- Notification of Promoting Renewable Energy through Green Energy Open Access Rules 2022 issued.
- Green Term Ahead Market (GTAM) to facilitate sale of Renewable Energy Power through exchanges has been launched.
- Notification of trajectory for RE power bids of 50 GW/annum to be issued by Renewable Energy Implementation Agencies (REIAs: SECI, NTPC, NHPC, SJVN) from FY 2023-24 to FY 2027-28.
- Waiver of Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) charges for inter-state sale of solar and wind power for projects to be commissioned by 30th June 2025, for Green Hydrogen Projects till December 2030 and for offshore wind projects till December 2032.
- To boost RE consumption, Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) trajectory has been notified till 2029-30, including separate RPO for Decentralized Renewable Energy.
- Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) permitted up to 100 percent under the automatic route.
- Notification of Promoting Renewable Energy through Green Energy Open Access Rules 2022 issued.
