Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) the names of the schemes on Vocational Education and Career Guidance for school students being implemented across the country by the Government;
(b) the manner in which students across the country are being trained to make a skilled workforce and bring India at par with other nations through formal vocational training provided during the student’s years of studies; and

(c) the manner in which students in the country are being trained especially in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir?

SHRIMATI ANNPURNA DEVI
(a) to (c): The Department of School Education and Literacy is implementing an initiative of Vocationalisation of School Education under the umbrella of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme ‘Samagra Shiksha’ for integrating Vocational Education with general academic education in all Secondary/Senior Secondary schools; enhancing the employability and entrepreneurial abilities of the students, providing exposure to work environment; and generating awareness amongst students about various career options so as to enable them to make a choice in accordance with their aptitude, competence and aspirations. Under the Scheme, National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) compliant vocational courses are offered to the students from class 9th  to 12th  in the
 
schools covered under the scheme. Vocational modules are offered to the students as an additional subject for Secondary level (Class IX and X) and as a compulsory (elective) subject for Sr. Secondary level (Class XI and XII). Job Roles in different sector like Aerospace & Aviation, Agriculture, Apparel Made ups & Home Furnishing, Automotive, Banking Finance and Insurance Services (BFSI), Beauty and Wellness, Construction, Electronics & Hardware, Handicrafts & Carpets, Healthcare, Information Technology / Information Technology Enabled Services (IT/ITeS), Management & Entrepreneurship, Media & Entertainment, Multi Skilling, Physical Education & Sports, Plumber, Power, Retail, Security, Telecom, Tourism & Hospitality, Transportation Logistics & Warehousing etc. have been approved to be offered in these modules.
