Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the initiatives taken and schemes being implemented by the Government under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ mission in the country and its impact on the society; and
funds released under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Mission
(b) the funds allocated for the schemes under mission ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ during each of the last three years, State/UT-wise?

(a) Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme was launched on 22nd January, 2015 as a tri-ministerial effort of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to prevent Gender biased sex selective elimination, to ensure survival and protection of girl child and also to ensure education of the girl child.
The Scheme has stirred up collective consciousness towards changing the mindset of the public to acknowledge the value and rights of the girl child. As per the Health Management Information System (HMIS), data of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) at National level has improved from 918 (2014-15) to 934 (2021-22).
The scheme has been expanded to cover all the districts of the country through Multi Sectoral Intervention. The funds are being routed through State Single Nodal Agency account for multi-sectoral interventions at district level.
Now, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Ministry of Minority Affairs have also been added as partners with a view to undertake special drive and awareness programme for promoting higher education and skill development among girls.
An operational Manual has also been developed which inter alia includes an activity calendar which will felicitate all the districts for organising year round activities to cover all aspects of holistic development of the girl child and achieve the objectives of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
 
The Government has taken various intitiatives under BBBP which includes, a special campaign namely Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav launched on 07th March, 2022 to re- enroll out of school adolescent girls (OoS AG) in the age group of 11-14 years.
Also, a National Conference for skilling of Girls in Non-Traditional Livelihoods (Betiyan Bane Kushal) was organised on 11th October, 2022, on the occasion of International Day of Girl Child. During the conference, a factsheet inter-alia defining the term ‘non- traditional livelihood’ was shared with the participants. Non-Traditional Livelihoods for girls means those livelihood practices that do not adhere to past practices or conform to traditional role plays. They help women to break the barriers that confine her within the gendered stereotypes of a typically masculinized and feminized role.
(b) The details of fund released for the schemes under mission ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ during each of the last three years is at Annexure.
