ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT

(DR. CHANDRA SEKHAR PEMMASANI)

(a): The Ministry of Rural Development is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) w.e.f. 1st April 2016 to provide assistance to eligible rural households for the construction of Pucca houses with basic amenities to achieve the objective of “Housing For All” in rural areas. Under the PMAY-G, the initial target was to provide assistance for the construction of 2.95 crore houses during FY 2016-17 to 2023-24. The Government of India has approved the implementation of the scheme during FY 2024-25 to 2028-29 to provide assistance for the construction of 2 crore additional houses. Under the PMAY-G, the allotment of house is made in the name of the woman or jointly in the name of the husband and wife except in the case of a widower/ unmarried/separated person/ transgender.

(b): The Government of India has approved the continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) for saturating the Awaas + (2018) list (after updation) and balance eligible households in SECC 2011 PWL by providing assistance within overall ceiling of 2 crore pucca houses with basic amenities from April, 2024 to March, 2029. The Government of India has approved the conduct of exercise for updating the Awaas + 2018 list for identifying additional eligible rural households for getting benefits under the scheme using modified exclusion criteria. In line with the approval of the Government of India, a survey is being conducted for the identification of additional eligible rural households under the scheme. The survey is being conducted through Awaas + 2024 Mobile App which has been launched on 17.09.2024. The App has provision for both self survey and assisted survey through pre registered surveyors. The survey began with the registration of surveyors by the States/UTs. Thereafter, Awaas+ 2024 household survey has also started from 27.12.2024. The initial deadline for completion of the Awaas+ 2024 survey is 31.03.2025.

(c): The State/ UT – wise number of houses built/constructed in rural areas under the PMAY-G, including Karnataka during the last 3 years FY 2021-22 to 2023-24 is given in Annexure.

Under the PMAY-G, the Ministry allocates the targets to the State/UT as a whole and district-wise targets are fixed by the State/UT. The District wise details of houses completed under PMAY-G, Financial Year wise, can be seen at the programme website at www.pmayg.nic.in—->AwaasSoft—->Reports—->Houses completed in a financial year (irrespective of target year).
