A special video message from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also broadcast during the event. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis emphasized that CIDCO’s housing scheme, implemented under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, is a significant step toward making affordable housing a reality for the common man.

He further highlighted that Navi Mumbai is emerging as a major hub for future development, and the CIDCO housing project is helping thousands of families secure their dream homes.

Deputy CM Eknath Shinde described the scheme as the biggest housing lottery in CIDCO’s history, allowing applicants to select their preferred homes. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of providing housing for all and acknowledged CIDCO’s efforts in executing this large-scale housing project. The houses, constructed in collaboration with renowned developers like Tata, L&T, and Shapoorji Pallonji, ensure superior quality and infrastructure.

Speaking on the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) project, Deputy CM Shinde addressed concerns raised by some NGOs and environmentalists regarding its impact on flamingo populations in Navi Mumbai. He assured that the government implemented advanced environmental technologies such as removers, circulation drains, and noise barriers, ensuring that not only has the flamingo population not decreased, but it has actually increased. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eco-friendly development projects that balance urban expansion with environmental preservation.

Deputy CM Shinde also announced that a new housing policy is set to be introduced, focusing on affordable housing for all, low-cost rental housing, student hostels, accommodation for working women and senior citizens and homes for mill workers and Mumbai’s iconic dabbawalas.
