UPGRADATION OF NURSING SCHOOL

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the existing nursing schools that have been upgraded as Colleges of Nursing under the Central Sector Scheme for upgradation;
(b) present status of implementation of the scheme and upgradation of the nursing schools, State/UT-wise;
(c) the details of the pending proposals before the Government in this regard and the present status thereof, State/UT-wise;
(d) whether any proposal has been received from the State Government of Kerala for upgradation of School of Nursing into College of Nursing since the implementation of the scheme; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the status of the proposals submitted by the State Government.

(a) to (e) The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare administers a central sector scheme of “Development of Nursing services” for upgradation of existing Schools of Nursing into Colleges of Nursing. As per the scheme guidelines, an amount of Rs. 7.00 cr is sanctioned per nursing school for upgradation into college of nursing. 38 schools of nursing have been approved for upgradation under the scheme during the previous years. List of 38 Schools of Nursing is Annexed. No proposal has been received from the State Government of Kerala for upgradation of schools under the scheme “Development of Nursing Services”.
