The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to begin registrations on 19 August for nearly 40,000 flats, many of which have remained unsold over the years. The flats will be available through three distinct housing schemes, with reduced prices and freehold status.

This initiative aims to boost revenue and address the affordable housing shortage in the city. According to The Times of India report, the DDA will offer units across various categories, including Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Lower Income Groups (LIG), at discounted rates. The flats will be updated and made ready for immediate occupancy before possession is transferred.

The first scheme, known as the DDA Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme 2024, will offer approximately 34,000 EWS and LIG flats in areas such as Ramgarh Colony, Siraspur, Loknayakpuram, Rohini, and Narela. Prices will start at Rs 11.5 lakh. These units will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with registration charges set at Rs 2,500. Booking amounts are Rs 50,000 for EWS and Rs 1 lakh for LIG flats. Prospective buyers can visit the properties before registration begins.

Following this, the DDA General Housing Scheme 2024 will present 5,400 flats across all categories—HIG, MIG, LIG, and EWS—in Jasola, Loknayakpuram, and Narela, with starting prices at Rs 29 lakh. Registration charges for this scheme are also Rs 2,500, with booking amounts varying from Rs 50,000 for EWS to Rs 10 lakh for HIG.

The report added that the third initiative, the DDA Dwarka Housing Scheme 2024, will feature 173 MIG, HIG, and higher category flats in sectors 14, 16B, and 19B, available through e-auction with starting prices at Rs 1.2 crore.

In addition to offering freehold properties, the DDA is providing a 15% discount on the listed prices.
