Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has any schemes/projects/initiatives to provide scholarships to students belonging to SC/ST/OBC and Minority Communities;
(b) the number of beneficiaries under the scholarship schemes/projects/initiatives for SCs/STs students during the last five years, State-wise and district-wise especially in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu;
(c) the details of the funds allocated and utilized during the last five years and current year, State- wise especially in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu;
(d) the details of the criteria fixed by the Government for availing scholarships; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government to spread awareness among the SC/ST/OBC and Minority Students about these scholarship schemes/projects/initiatives?

(a) to (e): The Government is implementing different scholarships schemes for providing financial assistance to all categories of students including Scheduled Castes (SC),Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Minority Communities. The details of these schemes including the criteria laid down for scholarship are available in the following websites:

The number of beneficiaries during the last 5 years under the pre-matric and post-matric scholarship schemes for students from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes,as per information received from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE) and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), state-wise and district-wise for the states of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu may be accessed at https://www.education.gov.in/parl_ques.The information received from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE) and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) regarding funds allocated and utilized for the pre-matric and post-matric scholarship schemes for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, during the last 5 years, state- wise may be accessed at https://www.education.gov.in/parl_ques.
To spread awareness among the students, this department disseminates information regarding the scholarships through print and social media among the stakeholders, including education departments and higher secondary boards of all States. Information useful for the students is also provided at a dedicated students’ section of the National Scholarship Portal.
