Subject: National Youth Parliament Scheme (NYPS) – reg.

Dear Principal

Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of India is organizing Youth Parliament Competitions in order to strengthen the roots of democracy, inculcate healthy habits of discipline, develop tolerance of divergent views and familiarize the student community with the procedures and functioning of Parliament.

Registration for the 4th edition of the National Youth Parliament Scheme (NYPS) is now open at the portal https://nyps.mpa.gov.in/. All the schools may register on the portal and organize Youth Parliament Sittings. Features of the web portal are as under:

1. All recognised educational institutions of the country are eligible to participate in this programme.

2. The registration for participation is done by the educational institutions on the web-portal.

3. E-training modules, videos, photographs and scripts in connection with Youth Parliament are available on the portal for online self-learning of the participants.

4. After successful registration, the educational institutions will be able to conduct Youth Parliament Sittings in their respective institutions.

5. Each student taking part in the sitting will get a Digital ‘Certificate of Participation’ and the Teachers-in-charge and Head of Institution each will get a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ through the web-portal.

6. Each institution is allowed to conduct multiple Youth Parliament Sittings through separate registrations for separate batches of the students.

You are requested to take a note of the above and encourage the students to participate in the National Youth Parliament Scheme.
