Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Jharkhand

Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:
(a) the steps taken by the Government to establish Jan Aushadhi Kendras in Jharkhand, district- wise including Hazaribagh;
(b) the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras opened in Jharkhand during the last three years and the current year, year-wise;
(c) the amount of funds allocated/utilized for the establishment and operation of these Kendras during the said period; and
(d) the measures taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to ensure the availability and affordability of generic medicines in these Kendras?
ANSWER

(a): Under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), Government has set a target to open 25000 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) by 31st March, 2027 across the country.
Accordingly, to achieve the set targets in all districts of the country, including Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand State, applications have been invited for applying online through the website www.janaushadhi.gov.in.
Total 120 PMBJ Kendras have been opened in the State of Jharkhand. Out of which 5 PMBJ Kendras have been opened in the Hazaribagh District.
(b): During the last three financial year, including the current financial year (till 30.06.2024) total 58 PMBJKs have been opened in the State of Jharkhand. Year-wise details are as under:

(c): There is no Kendra-wise fund allocation under PMBJP. Details of the funds allocated and utilized under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana in last three financial years is as under: –

(d): Product basket of PMBJP comprises 2047 medicines & 300 surgical and medical consumables. For smooth supply and products availability, an IT-enabled End to End Supply Chain system has been implemented. It comprises one central warehouse at Gurugram and four regional warehouses at Bengaluru, Guwahati, Chennai & Surat. Further, 36 distributors have been appointed across States/UTs to strengthen the supply chain system.
Overall availability of fast moving 400 products is being regularly monitored to ensure availability of products. Minimum Stocking mandate is also being implemented for Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras. Stocking mandate requires availability of 200 medicines at these Kendras, which covers top 100 selling medicines of PMBJP product basket and 100 fast selling medicines in the market.
Prices of the Jan Aushadhi medicines are generally 50%-90% less than that of branded medicines’ prices which are available in the open market.
