All Heads & Managers of the CBSE Affiliated Schools
Subject: Advisory for Fire Safety Compliance- reg.
As per rule 4.7 .7 of the Affiliation Bye-laws 2018 it is mandated as under,
“The School should scrupulously observe prescription from the State Government! Municipal Authority I Transport Department regarding Health & Hygiene, drinking water, fire safety, building safety and transport precautions in the school.”
Every school must take necessary precautions to prevent any untoward incident especially , any disaster happening from fire. The school fire safety is important for the reason that a large number of children gather at one place and even a single fire incident can affect all of them.
In continuation of the above provisions in the Affiliation Bye-Laws, the management including the school heads are advised to ensure that the schools shall, within the next 30 days ensure that they have:-
1. Conducted regular drills and fire safety programs.
2. Conducted structural and non-structural fire safety audits.
3. Conducted fire safety/ disaster management mock drills.
4. Ensured that the fire extinguisher/ alarms are installed, checked regularly and Fire Safety Certificate is renewed before expiry date.
5. Followed scrupulously the norms w.r.t. to the storage of inflammable and toxic materials in the Chemistry Lab.
6. Confirmed to the norms of local building bye-laws.
7. Ensured that the students and teachers undergo training for the school safety and disaster preparedness.
Schools may furnish the action taken report on the OASIS portal by 10.07.2024 . This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority .
