Rajasthan Housing Board
In 1970, the Rajasthan government enacted legislation to establish the Rajasthan Housing Board as an autonomous entity tasked with alleviating the state’s housing shortage. The board comprises a chairman appointed by the state authority and six non-official members nominated by the government. Additionally, it includes official members, such as the Principal Secretary to the Government (UDH), Secretary to Government (Finance), Housing Commissioner and the Chief Town Planner. The RHB introduces affordable housing schemes to address the accommodation needs of eligible beneficiaries from Economically Weaker Sections, Lower Income Groups, Middle-Income Groups and Higher Income Groups.
Rajasthan Housing Board New Scheme
In March 2023, the Rajasthan Housing Board unveiled its latest housing schemes in 17 cities across 14 districts of the state. The scheme booklets were revealed by Shanti Dhariwal, the Urban Development Minister of Rajasthan, and Pawan Arora, the Commissioner of the Rajasthan Housing Board, on March 1, 2023.

Rajasthan Housing Board Schemes: Eligibility
Here are the eligibility criteria for applicants interested in the Rajasthan Housing Board new schemes:
- Residency requirement: Applicants must be residents of Rajasthan to qualify for the Rajasthan Housing Board schemes.
- Registration fee: A registration fee of Rs 500, along with the applicable security deposit amount, is required from the applicant.
- Transparent bidding process: Applicants can apply for a scheme through a transparent bidding process. The highest bidder, as per the terms of the bidding, will be allocated the residential unit.
- Reasonable offer: Every potential buyer must make a reasonable offer during the bidding process.
- Down payment: Once the e-auction process concludes, the applicant must pay 10 per cent of the cost of the selected property as a down payment. The remaining amount is to be paid within two months of the date of auction.
- Rate of relaxation: The rate of relaxation, ranging between 5% to 25%, is provided based on the condition of the property.
