Uttar Pradesh is making remarkable progress in providing houses to the Economically Weaker sections of the society. According to a recent statement by the Uttar Pradesh government, over 2.5 Lakh affordable houses have been provided to the EWS sections of the society.
The affordable houses have been provided under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin or Chief Minister Housing Scheme Rural. The provision of affordable houses under the CM Housing scheme is in addition to the houses provided under the flagship Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin.
Started on February 2, 2018, the CM Housing Scheme Rural has provided over 2.57 lakh houses till 2023-24. This scheme has been instrumental in providing affordable houses to the people of backward classes belonging to castes such as Saharia, Chero, Baiga, Nat and Boxa. Districts such as Amroha, Shamly and Bareilly stand out in the completion of affordable houses under the CM Housing Scheme.
UP Housing Board reduces flat prices in Siddharth Vihar, Mandola, and Vasundhara
February 26, 2024: The UP Housing Board is reducing the prices of 4,720 flats in Siddharth Vihar, Vasundhara, and Mandola by up to 42%. The apartments were initially priced between Rs 69.4 lakh to Rs 1.1 crore.
- The Board noticed very few people have shown interest in purchasing their flats over the past decade.
- The Board constructed 1,292 flats in three towers, out of which 700 flats are still available in Siddharth Vihar. Similarly, out of 7,500 flats, 4,000 units in Mandolastill need to be sold. In Vasundhara, 20 flats are still available.
- The Board plans to organize an awareness campaign at its office in Vasundhara to attract potential homebuyers.
- Siddharth Vihar has ten builder projects under construction, and around 40,000 people live in the towers developed by the Board.
- The township’s location is strategically located near the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, the Hindon River, and the rapid rail.

- Step 2: Click on the E-Auction tab on the homepage.
- Step 3: You will be taken to a dedicated website built to manage auctions @ https://upavpauction.procure247.com/home
- Step 4: Here, you will come across four categories of auctions by the UP government viz Live, Closed, Cancelled and All.
- Step 5: When you click the live button, you will see the list of live auctions. The auction details will include the place, the start, the auction, the end, the event notice, and the auction document. You can also view the item-wise EMD deposit amount.
- Step 6: If you wish to bid for a property as a bidder, you will have to register as a bidder on the same portal.
- Step 7: Once registered as a bidder, you can log in at the bid opening and bid for the desired property.

If you wish to apply for a property sold by the UP government via auction, you will have to follow the mentioned steps-

- On the next page, availability is shown.

- On the next page, fill in the details like name, state, city, pin code, email, mobile, the purpose of booking, discount category, bank account number, applicant name, branch, IFSC code, type of ID, and ID proof number.

Other Updates 2024
4000 flats available under Awas Vikas in Lucknow, To be allotted via First Come, First Serve mode February 14, 2024: According to a recent update by UP Awas Vikas, over 4000 flats are available from earlier housing schemes in Lucknow. Interested homebuyers can book the flats online. However, the flats will not be allotted using the traditional housing lottery system. The vacant flats will be allotted via the ‘First Come, First Serve’ mode.
Interestingly, the UP Awas Vikas dropped the plan to allot the vacant flats via ‘FCFS’ mode. However, the link is activated again. The Up Awas Vikas has clarified that allotment of vacant flats in other cities of Uttar Pradesh will be done through a lottery under special registration only. A while ago, UP Awas Vikas announced a 42% rebate on the prices of residential flats available under its schemes. However, flats available in Lucknow were not covered under the offer.
UP to Implement Rural Housing Law soon; draft by UP Awas Vikas is ready January 15, 2024: An important development is that the Uttar Pradesh government plans to bring in a rural housing law. The UP Awas Vikas council is preparing the draft of the rural housing law. The Uttar Pradesh Government will bring a Uttar Pradesh Rural Population Record Bill 2024 to the state assembly.
Once the bill becomes law, people in rural areas can take home loans over their properties. After the purchase and sale of the properties, the ownership can also be transferred easily. To establish the ownership of rural properties, the state government has conducted an extensive drone survey of 90886 villages. Under the PM SVAMITVA scheme, the Union government has also taken the initiative to establish and record land ownership in rural areas of India. Uttar Pradesh Population Survey and Records Operations rules 202o are implemented in this relation.
