Revised Ward Entitlement for CGHS Beneficiaries : The ward entitlement of CGHS beneficiaries was revised on October 28, 2022, based on their corresponding basic pay. No changes were made for pensioners. Applications for new or revised CGHS cards are processed in order of receipt.

WARD ELIGIBILITY FOR PENSIONERS UNDER CGHS
1236. SHRI TIRATH SINGH RAWAT:
Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has modified the ‘ward eligibility’ under the CGHS for all the pensioners including the family pensioners due to implementation of the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government proposes to issue a separate order to modify the ‘ward eligibility’ under the CGHS for all the pensioners including family pensioners retired before the implementation of the recommendation of the 7th Central Pay Commission and if so, the details thereof and the date by which the modified order is likely to be issued;
(c) whether many pensioners including family pensioners are being denied the modified eligibility and their application for change is also not being accepted by the CGHS wellness centres; and
(d) if so, the number of complaints received in this regard and the details thereof, State/UT-wise particularly in National Capital Territory of Delhi?

(a) to (d) The ward entitlement of CGHS beneficiaries was revised vide OM No. S.11011/1/2016 -CGHS(P)/EHS dated the 28th October, 2022, in partial modification of the earlier OM of even No dated 09.01.2017, as per the details given below:

There is no proposal for implementation of revised ward entitlement for Pensioners/ Family Pensioner beneficiaries who had superannuated prior to implementation of 7th CPC.
Ward updation in respect of eligible beneficiaries is made, on receipt of applications. The applications for new CGHS cards and the applications for revision of Cards are processed on first come first serve basis. CGHS beneficiaries are issued a printed Index Card of revised ward entitlement, immediately. The beneficiaries also have the option to download e-CGHS card through their online CGHS account.
