Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has any new housing scheme for small towns;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the details of housing schemes being implemented by the Government in aspirational districts;
(d) the details of schemes being implemented in Betul Parliamentary Constituency;
(e) whether any other incentives are being provided to encourage the cities selected under Swachhta Survekshan; and
(f) the ranking of cities of Madhya Pradesh under Swachhta Survekshan?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS
SHRI KAUSHAL KISHORE
(a) to (d): Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) since 25.06.2015 to provide pucca house with basic amenities to all eligible urban beneficiaries across the country including Aspirational Districts as well as Betul Parliamentary Constituency. The Scheme is being implemented in all the statutory towns as per Census 2011 and towns notified subsequently including Notified Planning/Development Areas, areas falling within Notified Planning/Development area under the jurisdiction of an Industrial Development Authority/Special Area Development Authority/Urban Development Authority or any such Authority under State legislation which is entrusted with the functions of urban planning and regulations. The Scheme is implemented through four verticals i.e., Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR) and Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS).
Against the validated demand of 1.12 crore houses, as on 24.07.2023, 118.90 lakh houses have been sanctioned under PMAY-U, out of which, 112.25 lakh have been grounded for construction; of which 75.51 lakh are completed/delivered to the beneficiaries.
(e) & (f): MoHUA conducts an annual Survey. Swachh Survekshan is done for evaluation of the overall implementation of sanitation and waste management in cities. No incentives are provided to cities selected under Swachhta Survekshan. The ranking of cities of Madhya Pradesh under Swachhta Survekshan may be accessed at https://sbmurban.org/ss-2022-result-dashboard.
