CGHS DENTAL FACILITIES IN NORTH-EAST

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government is aware that very few private empanelled hospitals in the North-Eastern part of the country provide dental treatment to CGHS card holders and if so, the details thereof;

(b) the number of private empanelled hospitals/ clinics where dental treatment is provided to CGHS card holders in the North-Eastern parts of the country along with the names of the dental hospitals/clinics which provide dental treatment to CGHS card holders in the North-Eastern part of the country; and

(c) whether the Government proposes to extend the dental treatment to CGHS beneficiaries in more hospitals of North-East and if so, the details of the steps taken in this regard?

(a) to (c): Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is striving towards achieving Universal Health Coverage including Dental treatment, for all citizens, as per National Health Policy, through its various programs like AB-PMJAY, Ayushman Bharat- Health & Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs), Ayushman Bharat- Health Infrastructure Mission (AB-HIM), Ayushman Bharat- National Digital Health Mission (AB-NDHM), and National Health Mission (NHM) through its Rural and Urban components. In addition, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati is also functioning in North Eastern region to cater all the medical related needs.

Government of India provides financial and technical support to States/UTs to strengthen their health care systems upto secondary care level including for expansion of public health facilities, such as District Hospitals, Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Sub-Health Centres (SHCs) as well as for deployment of human resources to cater to public health services to all for provision of equitable, affordable healthcare to all its citizens based on requirements posed by the States in their Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs). The list of Government Medical facilities, CGHS Wellness Centres and CGHS empanelled private Health Care Organizations, in North East region is annexed.

Empanelment of Health Care Organizations under CGHS is voluntary and any hospital interested may apply under Continuous Empanelment Scheme. These are then considered for onboarding the CGHS panel, subject to fulfilment of terms and conditions of empanelment.
