Subject: Observance of ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ on 14th August 2023 – reg.
Dear Principal
Government of India has announced that 14th August every year will be observed  as ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’. Educational institutions may observe the day by organizing exhibition on this theme. It is pertinent to mention that considering the sensitivity of the issue, it may kindly be ensured that the exhibition is showcased with the sobriety and solemnness that it deserves. It may be specifically ensured that the sentiments of any section of the society are not to be hurt. It is reiterated the SOP (attached) should be strictly adhered to.

Important Instructions for the Exhibition

1. This exhibition can be printed on sun-board and be placed on easels. The size can be 2.5’ x 4’
2. This exhibition can also be shown through digital media
3. There can be a brief function at the beginning of the exhibition
4. Freedom  Fighters,  prominent  senior  citizens  or  public  representatives  be requested to inaugurate this exhibition
5. Patriotic songs be played during the inaugural ceremony
6. In the beginning, there can be a brief introduction about the purpose of the exhibition
7. Media be invited to the exhibition
8. Persons who have suffered the tragedy of partition should be invited to the exhibition
9. The inaugural ceremony should end with the National Anthem
10. Exhibition should be displayed for a definite duration
11. Enough arrangements be made for security of the exhibition
12. Enough efforts be made so that more and more people can come and see the exhibition
13. The exhibition is organised to remember the tragedy and agony of the partition so the sensitivity of this exhibition be remembered. It should also be ensured that no section of the society gets hurts by any act during the exhibition.
