Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the number of total rural houses provisioned under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAYG) in Scheduled Castes (SCs) dominated rural areas particularly in the State of Uttar Pradesh in the country during each of the last three years, State wise;
(b) the number of approved houses constructed, under construction and pending along with the details of the locations particularly in Misrikh Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Uttar Pradesh as on date; and
(c) the reasons of delay and the time by which these houses are likely to be completed?

(a): The State/UT-wise details of total number houses sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) to Scheduled Castes (SCs) beneficiaries in rural areas of the country for last three years particularly in the State of Uttar Pradesh is given in Annexure.

(b): Under PMAY-G, a total target of 36,15,149 houses have been allocated to the State of Uttar Pradesh, out of which 34,81,586 houses have already been sanctioned to the eligible beneficiaries by the State and construction of 32,44,423 houses has already been completed as on 20.07.2023. The aforesaid target was further distributed to districts by the State. The details of target allocated, houses sanctioned and houses completed in Districts of Misrikh Parliamentary Constituency are as below:

(c) : Some of the constraints faced by PMAY-G which caused delay in implementation are nation-wide lockdown induced by Covid- 19 when all construction activities including construction of houses under PMAY-G were affected. Besides, the States have repeatedly informed delays due to delay in release of Central & State Share from State Treasury to State Nodal Account of PMAY-G, cases of unwillingness of beneficiaries, permanent migration, disputed succession of deceased beneficiaries, delay in allotment of land to landless beneficiaries by the States/UTs and at times General/Assembly/ Panchayat elections, unavailability of building materials. Keeping in mind the difficulties faced including financial hardships by the States/UTs, the  Government had extended  the timeline for achieving the overall target to March, 2024. The scheme has been able to achieve its major milestones despite all the delays and the Ministry is committed to achieve target of construction of 2.95 crore pucca houses by 31st March, 2024.
