Subject: Special Opportunity to CBSE students to participate in the NCHMCT Counselling for admission to Hospitality Based Courses.
The integration of hospitality-based subjects into the education system under the NEP 2020 not only equips students with industry-relevant skills but also provides them with a wide range of career opportunities. Students with a background in hospitality management can explore careers in hotels, restaurants, tourism, event management companies, and various other sectors related to hospitality and tourism contributing effectively to the growth of the hospitality sector in India.
CBSE in collaboration with National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) offers hospitality-based Skill subjects (viz. Food Production & Front Office Operations) in classes IX to XII in its schools. NCHMCT is a government body established in 1982 to regulate and run hospitality education programmes in India. It has established 21 premier institutes all over India. NCHMCT acts as technical knowledge partner in the field of hospitality education for Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
Special Opportunity to CBSE students to participate in the NCHMCT Counselling
This partnership between CBSE and NCHMCT ensures that students receive industry-relevant education and training, aligning them with the demands and trends of the hospitality sector. The curriculum of these subjects has been designed in consultation with industry experts, incorporating their insights and expertise to provide students with practical knowledge and skills.
To be eligible for admission to Bachelor’s programmes offered by NCHMCT, students must have successfully passed class XII or its equivalent. Thereafter, they need to qualify the NCHMCT Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM-JEE) which is followed by the centralized online counselling process.
Successful completion of the Bachelor programmes from IHMs under NCHMCT opens up numerous opportunities for students in the hospitality industry.
We are pleased to inform that for the year 2023, NCHMCT is offering a special opportunity to the CBSE students who have passed class XII with Hospitality Based subjects to register and participate directly in the counselling process for admission to the Bachelor programmes.
Overall, this special opportunity for CBSE students will allow them to pursue a rewarding career in the field of hospitality and gain a competitive edge in the industry through the quality education and training provided by NCHMCT.
To create an awareness about the initiatives of CBSE with NCHMCT, a webinar is being organized on 14th June 2023 (Wednesday) from 02:00 pm onwards.
The experts from NCHMCT would be participating in this webinar and would apprise the participants about eligibility criteria, admission process, etc. and other initiatives.
