Prices for LIG and EWS units will be set in accordance with the Special Housing Scheme of 2021, according to officials. Flats in Rohini will range between Rs 14.15 lakh and Rs 41.11 lakh whereas the Loknayak Puram units will range between Rs 27.5 lakh and Rs 28.5 lakh.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to offer 5,000 flats to citizens under Phase IV of its First Come First Served (FCFS) housing scheme, which will be launched on June 30.
According to a statement released by the authority Wednesday, the scheme will offer around 40-50 High Income Group (HIG) houses in Jasola. Among Middle Income Group (MIG) houses, around 150 will be offered in Narela and 50 in Dwarka. Besides, over 1,500 flats in Rohini, around 120 in Siraspur and 140 flats in Loknayak Puram will be offered in the Lower Income Group (LIG) category, according to DDA public relations officer. More than 900 flats will be up for sale in Narela in the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) bracket.
In the LIG category, the cheapest houses will be offered in Siraspur, ranging between Rs 17.5 lakh and Rs 17.75 lakh. EWS houses will fall in the Rs 7.91 lakh to Rs 12.42 lakh range.
Meanwhile, after being at loggerheads with residents of Signature View apartments in Mukherjee Nagar for months now, the authority has offered two options to them: a direct buyback of the flats or a newly built flat in the same location with the same specifications.
The DDA has agreed to pay back the full cost of the flat as paid by allottees along with interest and stamp duty. In case residents opt for newly built flats, they would be given rent for the duration of the construction, DDA said.
Residents had complained of the poor quality of the flats; the buildings were declared “structurally unsafe” after a study by IIT-Delhi in 2021-22.
Last March, the DDA had offered to buy back the houses along with a 10.6% simple interest, or the option to swap the houses for existing DDA houses anywhere in the city. The third option was to opt for a house in the redeveloped housing complex and avail rent during the construction period. Residents rejected the offers, demanding “as is where is basis” that was, in turn, rejected by the housing authority.
