High speed optical fiber network

Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state:

(a) the details of the funds allocated and spent under Bharat Net Project across the country particularly in Badaun Parliamentary constituency of Uttar Pradesh;

(b) whether a high speed optical fiber network has been established across all the Panchayats in the said constituency in Uttar Pradesh under this Project;

(c) if so, the details thereof;

(d) the details about the number of villages of this constituency remained deprived of this project along with the reasons therefor; and

(e) the time by when these Panchayats are likely to be equipped with high speed optical fiber network?

(a) to (e) Bharat Net project is implemented in a phased manner to provide  broadband connectivity to all Gram Panchayats (GPs) in the country, including Badaun Parliamentary constituency of Uttar Pradesh. As on 31.12.2022, a sum of Rs. 33,133 crore has been allocated/ spent / disbursed under Bharat Net Project including Rs. 4729 crore for Uttar Pradesh (including Badaun Parliamentary Constituency). As on 06.03.2023, out of total 1,037 GPs of Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, 630 GPs have been made Service Ready. The Union Cabinet on 30.06.2021 accorded in- principle approval for extending the scope of Bharat Net to all inhabited villages in the country (including remaining GPs/villages of Badaun District of Uttar Pradesh). The timeline for completion of Bharat Net Project is 2025.
