Subject: Vidyanjali Program – reg.
Dear Principal
As you are aware, the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 envisages transformative change across all levels of education in India, through active involvement of community as well as private sector in the attainment of its goals and objectives. The Vidyanjali initiative is launched with an aim to strengthen the schools through community, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and private sector involvement across the country.
Vidyanjali Program under National Education Policy
Vidyanjali is implemented through the portal (https://vidyanjali.education.gov.in) hosted by Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, where any citizen of India/ PIO/ Organization registered in India, can directly connect with Government and Government-aided schools, and contribute in the form of Services/ Activities/ Assets/ Material/ Equipment etc. The aim of Vidyanjali is to act as facilitator by connecting contributors directly to the school. The effort is to bridge knowledge/ skill/ human resources gap in the schools by tapping the potential available outside the Government.
Further, the Department of School Education & Literacy has introduced a mentor/ mentee initiative also known as twining of school under Vidyanjali. This initiative enables the schools to be a mentor or mentee (based on school’s choice) of other schools by contributing through hand holding in academic and assets/ material/ equipment-related activities. Since the initiative is based on activities, therefore, engagement of school under the initiative can be short or long-term. The date and timing of the activity may be agreed upon between the participating schools, as it is purely voluntary in nature.
The information brochure of Vidyanjali Program is available at:  https://vidyanjali.education.gov.in/ assets/pdf/VidyanjaliBrochure.pdf
The detailed guidelines are available at:  https://vidyanjali.education.gov.in/assets/pdf/Final_ Guidelines _Vidyanjali_%20December.pdf
The schools are requested to participate in Vidyanjali Program, so as to reap maximum benefits of this scheme and also to mentor atleast 1 or 2 schools in the nearby area. Further, stakeholders may also be encouraged to volunteer to contribute in the Vidyanjali Program.
With Best Wishes
Dr. Joseph Emmanuel
