Employment opportunities under the National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell

Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES भारी उद्योग मंत्री be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Union Government has been providing employment opportunities under the National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) in the country;

(b) if so, the targets fixed by the Union Government under ACC in the country;

(c) the number of employment opportunities provided under the said programme in Maharashtra, Odisha and other States in the country during the last five years;

(d) whether vocational training and ancillary benefits are being provided to employees under the said programme; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (e): Sir, the Government on 12th May, 2021 approved the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for manufacturing of Advance Chemistry Cell (ACC) in the country. The total outlay of the scheme is Rs. 18,100 Crore for a period of 5 years.

It is estimated that the scheme will generate 2.70 lakhs (Direct: Indirect :: 1:4) of employment during the scheme period. The beneficiary firms will set up manufacturing facilities during the first two years under the scheme. The production of ACC Cells will start subsequently and will be eligible for incentives for next five years. Therefore, employment will be generated in due course of time during the scheme period.
