Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme a sub-scheme of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) whether it is a fact that house sales in the country’s eight major residential markets grew up by forty per cent during 2022 compared to the same period a year ago;

(b) if so, the details of the achievement of the Government under housing interest subsidy scheme-2022-23; and

(c) the achievement of the Government under PMAY-U towards implementing of estimated shortage of 63 million housing in the country?

(a): ‘Land’ and ‘Colonization’ are State subjects. The information related to sale of houses is not maintained centrally by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

(b):  Under Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) which is a sub-scheme of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U), a total of 25.37 lakh beneficiaries have been sanctioned since inception which includes 4.63 lakh beneficiaries during FY 2022-23 (as on 23.01.2023). For these beneficiaries, a total Central assistance of ₹53,547.51  crore  has  been  released  since  inception  as  interest subsidy which includes ₹5,500 crore during FY 2022-23.

(c): Under PMAY-U, as on 23.01.2023, a total of 122.69 lakh houses have been sanctioned and 107.55 lakh houses have been grounded for construction of which construction has been completed for 68.02 lakh houses.
