ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS
[SHRI ANURAG SINGH THAKUR]
(a) to (d): The pensioners of the SAI are paid a Fixed Medical Allowance (FMA) of ₹1000/- along with their monthly pension, as per the Order dated 19.07.2017 of the Department of Personnel & Training Government of India. The serving employees of SAI are presently provided medical facilities for treatment in any of the hospitals recognized by the State Governments/ CGHS.
The guidelines also cover the hospitals fully funded by either the Central Government or the State Government, subject to the condition that the medical expenditure will be reimbursed to the employees at the rates fixed by the Government under CGHS Rules. Further, a proposal of SAI for providing CGHS facilities to its serving and retired employees was considered in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, and it was decided not to extend CGHS facilities to the new organizations/areas/groups that are already not covered under it, due to severe resource constraints.
