Dear Principal
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), established under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1973, has the statutory status for better protection and promotion of human rights and matters connected therewith, inter alia to spread human rights literacy among various sections of the Society and to promote awareness of the safeguards available for the protection of these rights through publication, media, seminars and other available means.
Some short films for sensitisation and creating awareness on various issues pertaining to human rights are available on the website of NHRC. These films are in Hindi and other regional language(s) with subtitles in English, having duration of 3 to 10 minutes. These short films are available under different categories like bonded labour, child rights, women’s rights, right to education, right to life, liberty & personal security, rights of people with special needs etc.
These films can be accessed year-wise on the website of NHRC (www.nhrc.nic.in) under the media tab of ‘NHRC Award Winning Short Films’ or at direct link (https://nhrc.nic.in/media/nhrc-shortfilm).
You are requested to disseminate the above information in students and teachers of your school, to create awareness regarding human rights.
