WRONG ASSESSMENT IN PMAY-G

Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is aware that many deserving people have been deprived of the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) due to wrong assessment;
(b) if so, the steps taken by the Government to extend this benefit to all the eligible people; and
(c) the time by which it is likely to be done?

(a) to (c): The identification of beneficiaries under PMAY-G is based on the housing deprivation parameters and exclusion criteria prescribed under Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC)-2011 and due verification by the respective Gram Sabhas and completion of an Appellate Process. The number of eligible beneficiaries available through SECC database currently stands at 2.15 crore (approx.) .
The Government conducted Awaas+ survey during January 2018 to March 2019 to identify those beneficiaries which claimed to have been left out under the 2011 SECC and thus prepared an additional list of potential beneficiaries. In order to fill the gap between housing units sanctioned under the schem of 2.95 crore and those sanctioned to beneficiari of 80 lakh (2.95 crore – 2.15 crore), Awaas+ data is being utilized and target of 63.68 lakh houses have already been allocated to eligible States/ UTs from Awaas+ till date. Out of the total targets of 2.70 crore allocated to the States/UTs, 2.44 crore have been sanctioned and 1.90 crore completed as on 28.07.2022.
