PM Shri School equipped with state of art infrastructure
100. SHRI ASADUDDIN OWAISI:

Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Union Government propose to set up PM Shri School equipped with state of art infrastructure;

(b) if so, the details thereof and main purpose of opening such schools;

(c) the number of schools initially proposed to be set up in the country State- wise;

(d) whether it is a fact that infrastructure in the Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and other Central Government schools lack basic facilities; and

(e) if so, the steps taken/being taken by Government to ensure that before switching over to new set up of schools necessary infrastructure is provided in the existing schools?

ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION 

(SMT. ANNPURNA DEVI)

(a) to (c): The Finance Minister in her Budget Speech on 01.02.2021 has announced to qualitatively strengthen more than 15,000 schools from across the country to include all components of the National Education Policy, 2020. The objective is to develop them as exemplar schools in their regions, handholding and mentoring other schools to achieve the ideals of the policy.

(d) & (e)   As far as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)/Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) is concerned, proper planning is carried out for providing facilities at Kendriya Vidyalaya/Navodaya Vidyalaya, which includes labs, libraries, playground for field and games, sports, hygienic toilets blocks, ramps, stage, assembly area, cycle stand, canteen, guard room etc.
