FUNCTIONING OF DELHI POLICE

Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Delhi Police is functioning on its full strength and if so, the details thereof along with the total number of vacancies in Delhi Police as on date;
(b) whether the Government is taking steps for the welfare and social security of Delhi Police personnel and if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether the Government is running any schemes for family of Delhi police personnel and if so, the details thereof?

(b) and (c): Delhi Police has reported that a number of welfare measures are undertaken for Delhi Police Personnel and their family, such as loan for marriage of self and daughters, financial assistance for cremation of the deceased personnel, education loan for higher studies, ex-gratia payment in the event of death, organization of sports activities, selecting and preparing police personnel wards for upcoming tournaments, organizing training and counseling programmes, and signing MoU with various coaching institutes for discount of course fee etc.
