VACANCIES ADVERTISED BY SSC AND UPSC

Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the number of vacancies advertised by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) within the country during the last five years;
(b) the details of the number of candidates recruited through these commissions within the country during the said period;
(c) whether the vacancies advertised and candidates recruited by the SSC and UPSC are the lowest during this period and if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and
(d) whether the Government is aware about the promise of ten million jobs and a roadmap to curb unemployment in the country, especially among the youth and if so, the manner by which the Government will fulfill this promise to the country?

(a) to (c): Occurrence and filling of vacancies is a continuous process as per the requirement of various Ministries /Departments /Organizations of Government. Government issues instructions to all Ministries /Departments from time to time for timely action to fill up the unfilled posts.
During the last five years, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) have advertised 1,85,734 and 27,764 posts and recruited 1,74,744 and 24,836 candidates respectively as per details in the Annexure, in keeping with the number of vacancies reported by various Ministries /Departments /Organizations for various years.
(d): Keeping in view the priority of the Government for employment generation along with improving employability, various schemes have been undertaken, which include Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA), Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY), Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) and Deen Dayal Antyoday Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) etc.
