Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) the salient features of Kisan Rail Yojana;
(b) the number of trains being operated across the country under the said scheme, State-wise;
(c) the details of the targets fixed and achievements made under the said scheme so far;
(d) whether the Government has plans to expand and run trains in Maharashtra especially in Yavatmal – Washim Parliamentary Constituency;
(e) if so, the district-wise details thereof; and
(f) if not, the time by which the said trains are likely to be operated by the Government?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (f) OF UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 5676 BY SHRI OMPRAKASH BHUPALSINH alias PAWAN RAJENIMBALKAR AND SHRIMATI BHAVANA PUNDALIKRAO GAWALI TO BE ANSWERED IN LOK SABHA ON 06.04.2022 REGARDING KISAN RAIL YOJANA
(a) Kisan Rail trains have been introduced by Indian Railways to move perishables including fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fishery and dairy products from production or surplus regions to consumption or deficient regions. The salient features of the Kisan Rail include – speedy movement ensuring minimum damage during transit; multi commodity, multi consignor, multi consignee and multi stoppages; and no minimum limit on quantity that can be booked.
(b) and (c): Till 25.3.2022, a total of 2,190 trips of Kisan Rail trains have been operated. State-wise breakup thereof is as under –
