(a) the details of the number of customers served by post office savings banks in the country, State-wise including the estimated savings thereof; and
(b) the steps taken by the Government to promote the post office savings in the coming years?

(a) Details of the number of customers served by post office savings banks in the country, State-wise including the estimated savings thereof is provided in the Annexure.
(b) Implementation of core banking solution, installation of ATMs, facility of intra-operable internet banking, intra-operable mobile banking, inter-active voice response facility, credit of maturity value in bank accounts through electronic clearing system are some of the steps taken by the Department to promote the post office savings in the coming years.
