Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the number of Old Age Homes in the country, State-wise; and
(b) the amount sanctioned, released and utilized for the welfare of Senior Citizens and upkeep of Old Age Homes during the last three years, Scheme and Statewise?

(a) to (b): Under the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana Grants in Aid is provided to NGOs for maintaining (534) Senior Citizen Homes. The grant covers cost of providing food, shelter, healthcare facilities to the indigent senior citizens. The State-wise list of number of Senior Citizen Homes is given at Annexure-1. The State-wise details of funds sanctioned/released/utilised in the last 3 years is given at Annexure-11.
