REVIEW OF DDU-GKY

Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether the ongoing Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU- GKY) has been reviewed and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether any targets have been stipulated for imparting training and providing employment under this yojana during the current year;
(c) whether this yojana has been successful in enhancing employment opportunities and providing employment to the rural people;
(d) if so, whether the rural youths have shown less interest in this yojana in comparison to last years;
(e) if so, the reasons therefor; and
(f) whether the Government proposes to take any corrective measures in this regard?

(a) Periodic review of the implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is being carried out with States/UTs. Further NITI Aayog had conducted evaluation of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) and DDU-GKY as a component of NRLM was also evaluated. No recommendation requiring any changes in the DDU-GKY was made.
(b) Yes, it is targeted to train 2.80 lakh candidates and place 1.96 lakh candidates under DDU- GKY during 2021-22.
(c) Yes, The details of progress under DDU-GKY scheme from 2014-15 to 2021-22 (upto Feb, 2022) is given below:
