(a) : As per the provisions of regulations of National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and National Commission for Homeopathy (NCH), any person intend to apply for establishing a new college has to submit an application in accordance with the requirements of the scheme. Presently there is no proposal received for opening of new Ayush colleges from North-Eastern region/states for the academic year 2022-23 including Assam. However, under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the National Ayush Mission (NAM), there is provision for financial assistance to State Governments for establishment of new Ayush College, where availability of Ayush teaching institutions is inadequate in Government Sector. Earlier, during 2015-16, the State Government of Manipur applied for availing financial support for establishment of new Homeopathic Medical College at Keirao, Imphal East District.
(b) & (c): Under the NAM, the State Government of Manipur has availed financial support for establishment of new Homeopathic Medical College at Keirao, Imphal East District, with projected cost of Rs.900.00 Lakhs. Ministry of Ayush has approved an amount of Rs. 460.65 Lakhs from the year 2015-16 till 2020-21 in different installments for setting up of Homoeopathic Medical College at Keirao, Imphal East, Manipur. However, no proposal has been received under NAM till date from the State Government of Assam. Further, NAM scheme is being implemented through respective state/UT Govt. therefore no time line and no State-specific target have been fixed by the Ministry.
(d) : The construction of the said college has already been commenced.
(e) : The information is Nil.
(f) : In view of (e) does not arise.
