Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) under ‘Housing for all

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) the total number of houses targeted to be constructed under

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) under ‘Housing for all’ by the year 2022 inthe State of Maharashtra;

(b) the number of houses constructed so far and the number of houses that are to yet be constructed as per the target in Maharashtra State;

(c) the details of financial assistance provided under PMAY-U at present to the State of Maharashtra; and

(d) whether the Government proposes to increase the said amount and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Land and Colonization are State subjects. However, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, under the vision of ‘Housing for All’, is supplementing the efforts of States/ UTs by providing Central Assistance under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban (PMAY-U) for construction of houses for all eligible families/beneficiaries since 25.06.2015. Eligible beneficiaries can avail the benefit of PMAY-U through four verticals, i.e., Beneficiary-led Construction (BLC); Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP); ‘In-Situ’ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR) and Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS). In the State of Maharashtra, 13.51 lakh houses have been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U).

(b) So far, out of sanctioned houses, 4.94 lakh houses have been completed/delivered to beneficiaries and the remaining are at various stages of construction / grounding.

(c) Under PMAY-U, ₹22,724 crore has been sanctioned for the State of Maharashtra, of which ₹11,393 crore has been released.

(d) There is no such proposal under consideration.
