118. SHRI JAYADEV GALLA:

Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:

(a) the number of teachers in Government schools in primary and secondary classes since 2018-19, State and year-wise;

(b) the amount of salaries disbursed to teachers in primary, secondary and senior secondary Government schools since 2018-19, State and year-wise;

(c) whether the private school teachers experienced loss of income due to job loss or salary cuts since the first case of covid-19 in the country and if so, the reasons therefor;

(d) the details of steps taken to address it along with the role of States in addressing it and if the States have no role, the reasons therefor;

(e) whether any study has been conducted on the impact of COVID-19 on incomes of private school teachers, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(f) the details of teachers and non-teaching staff, working in Government & private unaided schools, who have received coronavirus vaccine since 2020-21, Statewise?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (f) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 118 FOR REPLY ON 6TH DECEMBER, 2021 ASKED BY HON’BLE MEMBER OF PARLIAMENTSHRI JAYADEV GALLA REGRADINGSCHOOL TEACHERS:

(a) :The number of teachers in Government Schools in primary & Secondary Classes since 2018-19, state & years wise is enclosed as Annexure-A.

(b) to (e) : Education is a concurrent subject under the Constitution of India, and majority of the schools come under the purview of State and UT Governments. The recruitment and other service matters of teachers are under the domain of State/UT Governments. Salary structure is determined based on norms of the State/UT. The salary disbursed by the State to the teachers may vary depending on the State guidelines.

(f)  : The detail is enclosed as Annexure-B.
