Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launches ‘Garib Kalyan Mela’
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led the launch of Gareeb Kalyan Mela in all 826 development blocks of the State on the occasion of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary.
While the CM himself inaugurated the Gareeb Kalyan Mela from the Bharohia block of district Gorakhpur, the Ministers and public representatives launched it in other districts and blocks on Saturday.
Determined to work for the welfare of poor and deprived people, the Chief Minister said: “Every poor and needy should get enrolled under the Ayushman Bharat so that they can avail the benefits of the scheme during the time of malady or sickness. There should be no lack of treatment to any needy in the state. Our government is standing with each victim’s family, and every poor through its welfare schemes in the state.”
The central and state governments are working with full commitment for the upliftment of the last rung of society. The Garib Kalyan Mela being organized simultaneously in all 826 development blocks of the state is an example of this commitment, he added.
Highlighting the schemes of the government, the CM said, “Under the Jan Arogya brought by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019, over 6 crore eligible people in Uttar Pradesh have been covered with the benefit of free medical service up to Rs 5 lakh from Ayushman Golden Card. These cardholders can get free treatment in government or empaneled hospitals. Those who could not get the benefit of this scheme, are being covered under the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana”.
The CM further informed that more than 29460 girls in Gorakhpur have been linked to the Kanya Sumangala Yojana. In Bharohia block itself, 1061 girls have got the benefit of the scheme. While 68341 destitute women have been linked to destitute women’s pension scheme in Gorakhpur. In Bharohia block, 1661 women are availing the benefit. The Chief Minister said that no destitute woman should feel helpless in the state, and instructions have been given to link them to the scheme by setting up camps.
Similarly, 26525 Divyangjans are being benefited from the pension scheme in Gorakhpur including 606 of Bharohia. Along with pension, artificial limbs and assistive devices are also provided to the specially-abled, he said.
Mentioning the Ujjwala Yojana, the Chief Minister informed that the first phase of the scheme was launched by PM from Ballia. Over 244519 women were given free LPG connections in Gorakhpur. Under Ujjwala 2.0, 19000 new beneficiaries have been linked.
Informing about the POSHAHAR scheme for women and children, the CM stated that through Anganwadi centers, around 133926 children between 6 months to 3 years of age and about 74626 children between 3 and 6 years of age have been given nutritious food in Gorakhpur district. As many as 54417 pregnant and lactating women have also benefited from the Pushtahaar scheme. In Bharohia block, 4278 children of 6 months to 3 years, 2208 children of 3 to 6 years, and 1656 lactating-pregnant women have benefited from this scheme.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also mentioned the achievements of many other welfare schemes. He said that 519129 farmers in Gorakhpur have been given the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. While 149140 have received the benefit of the Old age pension scheme including 4201 of Bharohia block. The construction of 37451 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been completed in the district including 751 of Bharohia. Also, 9228 new beneficiaries have been selected under the PM Awas Yojana in the district. People are also being given houses under the CM Awas Yojana.
Chief Minister said that the whole world saw India’s brilliant management under the leadership of PM Modi in the pandemic time. UP played the best role in controlling Corona.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the free ration was given in both the phases of COVID-19. Ensuring that free food grains are made available for 80 crore people of the country including 15 crore people of Uttar Pradesh, the government showed its sensitive and dedicated approach towards its people,” he said.
CM Yogi said that 20 years of the public life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the world’s most popular leader, is being completed on 7 October. To make his contribution unforgettable, BJP is running a 20-day Sewa Sankalp campaign from September 17 to October 6 across the country. This Garib Kalyan Mela is a part of the same campaign. He also paid heartfelt tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on his birth anniversary.
