SOLAR PUMPS INSTALLED UNDER PM-KUSUM

Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) the number of solar pumps installed under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM) in the UT of Ladakh;
(b) the details of the amount received by farmers who have installed these solar pumps;
(c) the distribution of the amount of surplus electricity that has been sold by farmers to distribution companies (DISCOMs) in the UT of Ladakh;
(d) the details of the size of agricultural land held by farmers who have installed solar pumps under PMKUSUM;
(e) the details of the ‘dark zones’ identified under PM-KUSUM as mentioned in the guidelines along with the criteria used to determine them; and
(f) the number of solar pumps installed/converted in these ‘dark zones’ along with the amount of electricity generated and revenue earned by farmers in these zones in the UT of Ladakh?

(a)&(b)Under Component-B of the PM-KUSUM Scheme sanction was issued in January, 2021 for installation 600 standalone solar pumps in UT of Ladakh.
No demand was received from the UT of Ladakh for solarization of existing agricultural pumps under Component-C of PM-KUSUM Scheme
The installation under Component-B is yet to start. No funds have been released under the scheme.
(c) Provision of selling surplus solar power is available in Component-C of PM-KUSUM Scheme, for which no demand has been received from UT of Ladakh.
(d) As on 30.06.2021, total 47,146 standalone solar pumps of sizes varying from 1 HP to 10 HP have been installed across the country under Component-B of PM-KUSUM. These pumps have been installed on land holdings of varying sizes.
(e) to (f) Dark zones or over-exploited ground water resources are identified by Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) in association with the State ground water organisations.
The ground water resources are assessed in units i.e blocks/ talukas/ mandals/ watersheds. These assessment units are categorized for ground water development based on two criteria – a) stage of ground water development, and b) long-term of pre and post monsoon water levels. CGWB has notified 162 Over-exploited areas in the country for regulation of ground water development and management.
Solar pumps have been sanctioned but have not yet been installed in UT of Ladakh under PM- KUSUM.
